Automatic "mops" such as the Evolution Robotics Mint Automatic Hard Floor Cleaner, 4200, can reduce the amount of effort you put into keeping the floors free of dirt. The Mint 4200 boasts a compact design, quiet motor and ability to run up to three hours on a single charge using most brands of disposable cloths. It is also guided by GPS to help clean around furniture and rugs. Program it with a timer and have it clean your kitchen floor right after the family is done with their meals. This high-tech gadget costs around $200. There are some similar devices available with varying costs.
Wireless Router
Having to work on your laptop from a single location because of your internet connection can limit your access to other family members and ability to supervise the kids. However, now that the age of wireless gadgets is here, you can use Cisco's Valet wireless router to move around with your laptop wherever the action is.
If you have an older computer that doesn't support wireless capabilities, you can purchase a Valet Connector and get that old bag of bolts working like its high-tech successors.
Simplify gadget charging
Between your cell phone, iPod, GPS and digital camera, you probably have a tangled mess of charger cords and not enough outlets for them all. Rather than risk a dead battery in the middle of an important call, toss your gadgets on the Powermat and charge them all at once—no cord required. The Powermat has a magnetic alignment that pulls up to three different devices and charges them faster than traditional adapters. The Powermat is available for around $100.
Quit worrying about watering those plants
If you're focusing on feeding your family, your plants' needs might go by the wayside. Products, such as Click & Grow, a computer-powered pot, automate watering and fertilizing. A wide variety of plant cartridges lets you grow plants ranging from the simple to exotic.
