The Pitt County Animal Shelter will join the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and Subaru of America for its annual year-end “Share the Love” campaign and celebration on Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Share the Love Holiday Adoption Event will be located at Greenville Subaru, 3999 S. Memorial Drive, Greenville, N.C.

New car buyers/lessees can choose to have $250 donated among five charities, including the ASPCA. An estimated 70 percent of Subaru owners have pets, more than any other auto manufacturer, and the company strives to reflect their owners’ active lifestyles, love of the outdoors and community involvement.

As part of this national effort, the Pitt County Animal Shelter and Greenville Subaru have teamed up to create off-site adoptions at the Greenville dealership, along with offering holiday gift certificates, donation acknowledgment cards, balloons for kids, hot dogs, drinks, hot chocolate, and identification tags for pets. Spay Today will be present with information on low-cost spay and neuter services.

There will be a variety of healthy, lovable dogs just waiting to go to their new forever homes. If citizens are looking for a companion to fit into a household with another dog, they are encouraged to bring their current canine to meet the potential new family member.
