Jennifer Rice writes how your choice of location for your wedding can reflect on you and how you feel on that important day.

I used to always close my eyes and imagine what this day would be like.

Finally, it is November, I open my eyes and I am in a great room where white embraces the entire area and complements the splashes of red.  Light shimmers off the white like a ray of sunshine from above making me bask in the glory of OUR day.  We turn to go into the ballroom to see all of our friends and family waiting to greet us in their formal attire and genuine smiling eyes.  We are met by a pleasant aroma of the aperitifs we had chosen for this special occasion.  Immediately, I scale the room to make sure everything is neatly placed because even though we are supposed to enjoy ourselves, the nature of the beastly bride wants to make sure everything is perfect, not just for me but for our guests.

Ahhh, my silent sigh of relief shows me (and my mother) that other people CAN do things right.  The round tables are perfectly set with the square glass vases encompassed by gold laced ribbon, holding the dozen roses we had chosen.  The white covers neatly fitted over the chairs with more gold laced ribbon tied around them. A bow, tied in the back and wispily falling to the floor; these chairs just kissing the table cloths.  The table settings consisting of gorgeous gold chargers beneath the guest plates with the perfectly polished silverware to each side, and the water glasses that sat diagonally from the champagne glasses which had each glass charm facing the correct seat.  The entire room plays on my eyes like the London Orchestra plays Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C Minor.  It is OUR day and without the help from the wonderful staff, this would have never happened.

If this true description of a very real, elegant wedding reception is something along the lines that you are looking for on your special day, please visit Jenna Albritton at the City Hotel & Bistro for pricing and a consultation.  This is not only a description of a reception, but the way it was seen by the guests (family and friends alike), which is important to all future married couples, as well as their family.  Your wedding reflects who you are as individuals and how you are and will be as a couple.  Let us help you coordinate the most elegant, eccentric, simple, dark, light, “how ever you want it” reception you can possibly receive!  Give Jenna a call at 252-355-8300 extension 506.
