Sylvia is currently the Administrative Director for the eastern area of Monarch. Monarch is a non-profit organization supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance abuse needs. The agency works with individuals and families in more than 40 counties across North Carolina to identify and overcome barriers to reaching their personal dreams.
Sylvia is a graduate of East Carolina University. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Sylvia’s primary responsibility with Monarch is to provide supervision and management of the operation’s staff, ensuring program and administrative functions are implemented. She also serves as a member of the senior leadership team which provides guidance and support throughout the region.
A native of New Bern, Sylvia along with her husband, George, enjoy the coastal living offered by eastern North Carolina. She is a member of the East Carolina Alumni Association, the New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce and Garber United Methodist Church. Her son, John resides in Greenville and her daughter Jordan is currently a sophomore at East Carolina University.
