Meet Becky Blizzard

Becky, a Fayetteville, NC native, graduated from East Carolina in 1998. Upon graduation, she moved to Raleigh to work with a software company as a Technical Writer. It wasn’t long after her year and a half in Raleigh that she and her husband Patrick were determined to head back east. When settling back into Greenville and after buying their first home together, weekends were filled with remodeling, painting, and updating their space. She and Patrick didn’t realize at the time that they were “flipping” their house – a term not yet coined by the Home and Garden network. Once all the projects in the house were done, Becky and Patrick decided to put their home on the market and were extremely pleased when it sold in a week and over asking price. Much like the flip of the house, the quick sale and a passion for aesthetic spaces was exactly what spurred Becky into the field of home staging.

First Impressions Staging, Inc. was started in March of 2006 and welcomed by very savvy local real estate agents. Becky loves working with sellers and real estate agents to help stage homes to sell quickly. It’s not only knowing what things need to be addressed but also telling the clients why we need to make certain changes. I always tell clients that I am more of an un-decorator than a decorator. The clients have their house specific to their tastes, they’ve done the decorating, I go into spaces as a neutral party to ensure that the house evokes the right image for all prospective buyers. I focus on the homes overall appearance, feel and marketability – accentuate the pluses and downplay the minuses.

After working in the real estate business for two and a half years, Becky loves working with clients to help them successfully sell faster and for the most money possible. A perfect scenario is when a client calls prior to selling, we stage the house and it sells quickly. Having a house on the market can be stressful for anyone and I want to eliminate the stress for all sellers.

Becky has boys Garrett and Charlie, ages 6 and 3, who keep her very busy. When Becky isn’t transporting the boys to see their grandparents, she can be found spending weekends with close friends or doing home improvement projects. Becky says laughingly, “I feel like the shoemaker with no shoes. I tell everyone how to improve their spaces and come home and trip over Legos and toy figures all over the house but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
